Shape an application around a complete task
Application planning starts with the user’s environment: mobile or desktop devices, local files, connectivity, and repeated tasks. These choices influence the interface, architecture, installation, and update model. We discuss essential journeys and the boundary between a first release and later enhancements before setting a detailed scope.
Typical scoping questions
Will users need local file access? Which actions must work offline? Are accounts required? What platforms and versions must be supported? Who owns distribution accounts and the release process? These questions expose dependencies that are easy to miss when the conversation starts only with screen designs.
Reviewable deliverables
An engagement may include workflow definitions, interface designs, application implementation, integration work, acceptance criteria, and release documentation. The proposal identifies which are included. Platform enrollment, certificates, and review timelines are separate dependencies, and no design or development proposal guarantees a platform’s approval.
